The aim of the school council is to promote citizenship and to give the children a voice within the school.
Each class elects two children to represent them on the school council. Children who wish to be considered for election deliver a small speech to their class, outlining their plans and actions as a member of school council. Children then vote for their school council members and the candidates with the most votes is elected to represent them in school council meetings.
The school council meets on a regular basis with Miss Thomson to discuss school issues, raised by both children and staff. After meetings school council members report back to their classes and sometimes to the whole school in assemblies.
School council are also responsible for running the school tuck-shop and helping to choose charities that our school will support.
